Wisconsin

Christopher gave me a gift certificate for a massage for my birthday this year. Since then, Ollie has been obsessed with massages. This morning, he wouldn't stop talking about how we needed to "take Daddy massaging." So funny. He's also really into solar power these days. Whenever he sees a solar power roof, he gets very excited and loves to talk about all of the things that can run on solar power...and how, exactly, that works.

Today was a bit of a nature day. This morning, we saw two giant turtles by the pond...and this afternoon, while playing outside, a water moccasin found us. (That was quite a bit more frightening for me.) As soon as I saw the snake (about 3-4 feet away from the boys), I scooped up Indie and told Ollie to climb into our wagon...which, surprisingly, he did at my first request. When I showed why (the 4-5 foot long snake slithering across the ground) he started chanting, "I'm not afraid of snakes! It's friendly!!" Oh my. At the moment, I don't think we'll ever play outside again! ;)

Indie is climbing EVERYTHING, loves to poke Ollie in the eye, and has accomplished the spider finger motions to "the itsy bitsy spider." (That is a remarkable thing to see!) His new favorite toy is a wooden ketchup bottle that belongs in their play kitchen. He carries it everywhere with him. He's also very social. When we're out on a wagon walk, he waves to everyone he sees. Too cute!

Minnesota to Wisconsin

Ollie was concerned, recently, that he might have an "ear wack" in his ear. This must be the singular form of the plural, "ear wacks," otherwise known as, "ear wax."
*****
Indie continues to work on his verbal communication. The phrase of discontent that we hear most frequently is, "Ah done this!" (all done with this!) At his one year check-up, upon receiving three shots, he repeatedly screamed, "Ah done this! Ah done this!" Poor little guy.
